今回の事例のように、検証用や別件で使用していた機材を使用する場合、以前の設定が残っている事が多くあります。NetScreenでは以下のように「unset all」コマンドで初期出荷状態にコンフィグを戻すことができます。

なお、ログインパスワードも解らない場合はシリアルコンソールからユーザ名とパスワードにハードウェアのシリアル番号を入力することで「Lost Password Reset」をかける事ができます。

ハードウェアのシリアル番号は底面のシールに記載されています。場合によってはラックから外したり、無理に頭を突っ込んだりする必要があるかもしれません。ScreenOS 4.0の頃はブート時のシリアルコンソールにシリアル番号が表示されていたのですが、5.0以降では表示されていないようです。
稼働中のNetScreenでシリアル番号を調べるには「get system」です。
